Rods: Medium Heavy to Heavy bait casting or spinning rod, 6 to 7ft. long with long handles (We love St Croix Avid rods)

Reels: Matching reels with strong drag system (Our favorite are the Shimano products especially the Calcutta series for bait casting)

Line: Minimum 17 LB test monofilament line. (We prefer Berkley line)

Leaders: 9 to 24 inch - 30 to 50LB test Wire or preferably Titanium leaders (If you use titanium we suggest to make your own or use Terminator leaders)

Spoons

  • Johnson Silver Minnow (gold, silver, five of diamonds) tipped with white Berkley power grubs or your favorite trailers
  • Len Thompson spoons #2 and #4 five of diamonds pattern
  • Red Eye Wiggler (gold, silver)

    Spinners

  • Tandem Bucktail Spinners such as the northland bionic bucktails (Use musky size in the summer months)
  • Big bucktails spinners such as the Mepps musky killer

  • Sluggos 6 and 9 in. white
  • Banjo Minnows (work great in the spring)

  • Socks (Neo-preen water proof sockets are awesome)

  • Water proof shoes and or waterproof boots

  • Polarized sunglasses
  • Sufficient underwear for your length of stay
