Rods: Medium Heavy to Heavy bait casting or spinning rod, 6 to 7ft. long with long handles (We love St Croix Avid rods)
Reels: Matching reels with strong drag system (Our favorite are the Shimano products especially the Calcutta series for bait casting)
Line: Minimum 17 LB test monofilament line. (We prefer Berkley line)
Leaders: 9 to 24 inch - 30 to 50LB test Wire or preferably Titanium leaders (If you use titanium we suggest to make your own or use Terminator leaders)
Spoons
Johnson Silver Minnow (gold, silver, five of diamonds) tipped with white Berkley power grubs or your favorite trailers
Len Thompson spoons #2 and #4 five of diamonds pattern
