Silsby Lake Lodge has set the bar with the equipment we are now providing our guests to use FREE of charge while on their trip. We have enough fishing equipment to provide 38 people at one time (all three lakes) with the following equipment -
Northern Pike

Tackle
Shimano Broadway Day Tackle Bag - full of the best baits on the market for both Northern & Walleye - all with single barbless hooks.
For those who would still prefer to bring their own equipment and tackle, here is what we suggest...
- Rods: Medium Heavy to Heavy bait casting or spinning rod, 6 to 7ft. long with long handles
- Reels: Matching reels with strong drag system (Our favorite are the Shimano products especially the Calcutta series for bait casting)
- Line: Minimum 17 LB test monofilament line. (We prefer Berkley line)
- Leaders: 9 to 24 inch - 30 to 50LB test Wire or preferably Titanium leaders
Spoons
- Johnson Silver Minnow (gold, silver, five of diamonds) tipped with white Berkley power grubs or your favorite trailers
- Len Thompson spoons #2 and #4 five of diamonds pattern
- Red Eye Wiggler (gold, silver)
- Little Cleo (silver, gold, blue, chartreuse)
- Doctor Spoon (gold, silver, 5 of diamonds)
Spinners
- Tandem Bucktail Spinners such as the northland bionic bucktails (Use musky size in the summer months)
- Big bucktails spinners such as the Mepps musky killer
- Blue fox vibrax #5 and #6 in gold and silver
Jerk Baits/Crankbaits
- Sluggos 6 and 9 in. white
- Banjo Minnows (work great in the spring)
- Suicks 6 to 9 in. weighted (sucker, red & white, black, perch)
- Bulldogs 6 in. (white, silver spec. black & white, black & green, black & orange)

Clothing and miscellaneous gear
- It most important to bring layers of clothing rather than heavy coats
- A good set of Gore-Tex 100% waterproof raingear
- A good fleece jacket
- Long and short sleeve shirts
- 2 to 3 pairs of pants
- One pair of shorts
- Thermal or fleece long johns and shirts
- Socks
- Water proof gloves
- Water proof shoes and or waterproof boots
- Hat
- Polarized sunglasses
- Sufficient underwear for your length of stay
- Polarized fishing glasses
- Camera and film
- Needle nose pliers
- Zip loc bags to waterproof items
- Toiletries
- Any prescribed and over the counter medication
- Sunscreen
