Getting Here

We offer our trips from two gateway cities, Thompson or Winnipeg.

From Thompson:

You need to arrive in Thompson the evening before your first day for an early morning departure to Silsby the next day. Currently two commercial airlines offer daily service to Thompson from Winnipeg, Calm air and Skyward aviation. Calm air offers four flights per day and Skyward offers three flights per day. Currently Calm air's scheduled flights work better for your flight times into and out of Silsby. Please see our links page for their web sites or call us for assistance with booking your flights. You may also drive 7 hours to Thompson from winning via paved highways.

If you decide to book your own flights please make sure you arrive the night before your trip and book your return trip out of Thompson to Winnipeg no earlier than 11:00 am on departure day. Northwest has a 4:10 flight out of Winnipeg to Minneapolis so that you can make your connections back to your home city. The return trip can be made in one day.

From Winnipeg:

Please plan to arrive in Winnipeg no later than 4:00 the day prior to your trip. We will than take care of all flight arrangements from there.

The morning of your first day:

You will need to be at the Thompson airport by 6:00 am for your 45 minute charted flight out to the lodge. We will be flying Cessna Caravans which are 9 passenger wheeled aircraft to our air strip at Silsby. Upon arrival, at our private airstrip, you will be greeted by our friendly staff, board our magic school bus for a five minute ride to the lake. From there it's a short boat-ride to the island. As you approach this very scenic lodge and see what a welcoming site it really is….you will know that you have arrived at famous Silsby-Lake lodge. Greeted at the lodge dock, you will be shown to your cabin and escorted to the diner for a hearty breakfast. While you are eating breakfast the staff will take your luggage to your cabin and the guides will be preparing the boats for your first day of Trophy pike fishing at Silsby Lake.

If you are going to High Hill outpost, after breakfast, our staff will take your group a guided 30 minute journey of pure pleasure and anticipation, allowing you to view scenic Silsby Lake and the thousands of fish in the river that connect these two beautiful lakes. Once you have traveled through the river, you will spot the outpost located a ¼ mile away on a peninsula. When you pull up to the dock our camp manager will bring your luggage to the cabin as you and your guide head out on the lake to begin some of the best trophy pike fishing that Manitoba has to offer.

For our Cuddle lake guest you will use the same mode of transportation to Thompson however we use float planes from Thompson directly to Cuddle Lake.

We recommend our trusted travel agency, Continental Travel Group in Winnipeg. They have access to special ‘Unpublished’ airfares for fishers and hunters. They can ticket you from anywhere in the United States or Canada and will stay in touch with us if there are any unexpected changes to your airline schedule.
