We really enjoyed our stay and the fishing was great. I look forward to coming back and thanks for all the help.

Kip,
I thought I'd drop you a line to tell you how impressed I was with Silsby Lake Lodge and its fishing adventure. On the two trips that I have made (August of '02 and '03), I experienced the best fishing of any place that I have visited. The number of pike and the size were beyond anything that I had ever seen. My biggest was a 47.5 inch "trophy" and we many caught many over 41" and hundreds of them longer than 36 inches. The accommodations at the lodge were excellent as was the equipment you provided.
My only regret was that I was not able to make the trip in '04, but I hope to be back in August, '05. Until then, keep up the good work and "keep 'em biting"!

Dear, Kip, Mickey, Sean & Silsby Staff,
Just wanted to tell everyone thanks for fantastic fishing trip that my dad and I went on this spring. The service from the minute we step off the plane at Thompson to the time we boarded the plane again to leave was nothing short than spectacular. The staff did a great job of accommodating our needs as well as all of the other guests. The meals and shore lunches were also well ran and maintained.
The only thing better than the service and meals was the fishing. The first day my dad and I each landed a trophy. In all, we ended with five trophies between the two of us. We also landed hundreds more in the mid to upper thirty's range. The fishing met and exceeded our expectations. Again, thanks for a wonderful and trip and look forward to see everyone again.
Thanks Aaron Slezak
Kip,
About our experience at Silsby Lake I can say that this will be our 4th year going there and I would rate the food, cabin, and equipment all to be very good. Kip and Mickey do a great job of running the operation and Todd has really made sure that all the guests are taken care of. When you talk about the fishing, you are talking about the one thing that brings us back every year. The Northern Pike fishing is as good as we have seen in any place we have been over the last 30 years. The chance for everyone to catch a trophy is almost guaranteed. Walleyes are also abundant in the lake and they are large for this far north. Last Year mt biggest was 27" (just missed by 1") and the average was around 22', in fact we had days that we were catching walleyes left and right and had a hard time getting the smaller ones (17-18") for shore lunch. Oh by the way,the shore lunch spots are terrific and well maintained.
Over the last three years we have discovered many different "hot spots" and we still have only fished half of the lake. We look forward to getting back up there this year and having a great time again. I would recommend Silsby Lake to anyone that wants to catch fish all day long and for the chance to catch a trophy or two or three....

Dear Kip & Mickey
Thank-you for a wonderful fishing trip. Silsby has to be one of the most beautiful places on earth. The weather in August this year was so nice. The northern Lights were spectacular. Your grandson said that he lives there and this was the best he has seen.
What can I say about the fishing? It was out of this world! We estimated we caught well over 650 northerns over 36". The 4 of us caught and released 18 trophies. We had a 47 1/2, a 47, 2-45's and 4-44's. The rest were 43 1/2 to 41. We didn't lose one fish; they all lived after their release. That's a tribute to Justin, our Guide - he does wonders with those deep hooked fish.
We saw Moose, Caribou and lots of Eagles. The shore lunches were to die for.
We are coming back next year we have 4 more guys (8 total).
Thanks again.
Sincerely Bill Litha
Dear Kip:
Thank you for providing the freshwater fishing trip of my life!
Your long standing conservation efforts make this lake, truly, a trophy pike hunters paradise. In one week, four of us, caught and released 18 pike at least 41" long. Several of the pike were 47" plus (during midsummer). We saw caribou, moose, lots of eagles and the Northern Lights. Our guide, Justin, was extremely knowledgeable, hardworking and friendly, plus, his shore lunches were unbeatable.
Again, thanks and see you in 2005.

Dear Silsby Lake Lodge,
I want to thank you for a wonderful fishing trip. This was my first experience with a fly in fishing trip and I had the time of my life. I was impressed form the minute I got on the plane to fly into the lake, until the minute I got off of it at the dock in Thompson. I flew in to Cuddle Lake on May 31st with my long time fishing buddy Dennis. Our guides name was Todd and he put us on so many huge pike that we didn't know where to cast first. The two of us combined to catch 32 trophy pike (41" or larger) and another 78 more between 35" and 40". It was like I died and went to fishing heaven. I would like to congratulate you on running a first class lodge with great guides, food, scenery, and of course big pike fishing. I can't put into words how much fun I had. Thanks a million, I'll be back.
Sincerely,
Jeff Ehrard

Kip,
I was just sitting here watching our tapes of our trips to Silsby and High Hill. Bob and I have some great memories going back to 1993. The records we kept show close to 6000 fish and over 100 trophies.
We will not forget 1997 when fished all three lakes. That trip to Cuddle was an experience. It was the wildest ATV ride I ever had.
When I first started fishing for pike with a fly rod, a whole new fishing experience opened up. The strike of a trophy pike on any tackle is a charge but on a fly rod it's a super charge!
After fishing 21 weeks at Silsby and High Hill some might think it's time for a change, but when you can expect great fishing and accommodations, provided by super people who have now become friends, it doesn't make much sense to go anywhere else.
My august trip last year and the year before were very enjoyable. I really enjoyed the time spent with you and Kate. The time we spent fly fishing together was special.
Be seeing you,

Dear Kip,
I just wanted to thank you for an awesome trip. I was hoping to catch more than six 41 inch northerns. My fishing buddy Jeff was hoping to catch a couple northerns bigger than 41 inches. We had no idea how small our "hoping" was. Jeff ended up with 15 northerns bigger than 41 inches and I had 17 all caught in 1 week. The guide was always there to help. The food was great. We don't know what to expect when we come back. Thanks for a trip and pictures I will always remember.
